This book is NOT gender inclusive
I was so excited about getting this book and was sorely disappointed when I received it. I expected it to demonstrate gender inclusivity and it fell short of that by far. While it does disrupt stereotypes around colors and activities associated with boys and girls, it reinforces gender binaries and is not inclusive for ALL students. If I read this book in my classroom, I will do so only as a springboard to discuss gender as a social construct.
