Cheap piece of crap!
I needed a flat iron to travel with, so I bought this sucker at Target. I already have a Remington S9950 Shine Therapy Moisturizing and Conditioning Digital Ceramic Hair Straightener, 1" (the blue one) and love it, and since I didn't see that model in the store I bought this one. What a cheap piece of crap, it does not compare in the least to my other one:
--This thing stinks, literally, when it's on. You will think you forgot something on the stove.
--It says that it has floating plates (plural). That is a lie. Only one plate floats and the other one is rigid. Also, you need to really squeeze the iron hard to get both plate surfaces to meet completely. Otherwise they only meet at the tip and snag your hair.
--The plates don't glide well to begin with and are prone to snagging! (see above)
These are problems that I have never had with any other flat iron. Ever. I don't care how much it costs, this is a piece of crap at any price.
