Bad results, bad follow-up from owner (try turmeric instead)
I ordered these gloves a couple months ago to help with hand pain. I'm an avid crocheter and have some regular hand stiffness and pain, so finding solutions to help with these things are crucial. I ordered these gloves hoping that I would be able to wear them at some point (either before, during, or after) to help relieve the pain and improve blood-flow for faster recovery. Here are the results: Before: When wearing these gloves prior to crocheting they seemed to have little to no effect on the hand pain that soon followed, and if anything it seemed that the stiffness and pain came more quickly. I'm no scientist, and couldn't say why it happened, but that was the result. During: I tried wearing these gloves for a variety of activities. The first was while typing on a keyboard. For my work I tend to spend a good chunk of time writing, so I had hoped that I could easily wear them while typing, and in doing so prevent the eventual stiffness and pain that would follow. While the gloves aren't massive or bulky, I found it difficult to wear them while tying, as my fingers struggled to get close enough to hit all the letters with the fabric between them. The gloves seemed to have no effect for me while typing, and after taking them off I found that my hands felt a bit awkward and weird. I tried using these while typing for about three hours. I found that wearing these gloves while crocheting was simply not possible. They again put too much space between my fingers and the finger-intensive and detailed work of creating items with yarn. I tried using them for a couple hours, and in that time only managed to complete about 30 minutes worth of work that I do regularly. After: I tried these gloves both immediately after crocheting and while asleep. If I used them immediately after crocheting I found that they exacerbated the pain and stiffness I was already feeling, while not providing any relief for the hot-spot areas I regularly struggle with (the inside section of the thumb muscle and the base of my opposing pointer finger). This was pretty disappointing, but I tried for a few days anyways to see if maybe it was an effect-over-time kind of thing. They didn't get better with days or time. The last situation I tried these gloves was while sleeping. I figured "My body is resting, so maybe a little extra help will help my hands be less stiff the next morning." I found that they bothered my hands so much that I regularly woke up after a couple hours to rip them off and hold my sore hands close for the rest of the night. I tried this method for about a week. Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with the product. If anyone is also looking but having a hard time finding something, I've been trying some turmeric every day for about a month and a half and it seems to slowly be helping. More than the product, however, I'm frustrated that I was contacted so many freaking times by the owner asking for a review. Over the last couple months since trying this item I've been contacted at least five different times (including a letter in the mail) asking me for a review. I wasn't going to give a review, since this product might be better for someone else and I didn't want to talk badly about the product for that reason, but after so many requests for a review I decided to do one. So Heather, here is your review you so badly wanted. Your product didn't work for me, and in almost every case just made the pain and stiffness worse. In the future, it would probably be best to not bother people with reviews after they've ignored the first two or three requests. And it would definitely be a wise move to not send a letter in the mail after two months of silence. While I respect your energy and motivation, there's a fine line between respectfully asking for a review once or twice and harassing someone until they give it.
