Disappointed
I'm very disappointed in this book. The amount of time and effort required in preparation of most of the recipes defeats the advantage of using a slow cooker which is ease and convenience of use. Another negative is every recipe requires a 6 quart slow cooker--something that is not in the book's description, so those of us who have smaller ones are pretty much out of luck.
Beyond that many recipes call for the use of convenience food ingredients which adds to the cost of the dish. In many cases there is as much or more work involved than if you just prepared it the regular way on top of the stove or in the oven.
With recipes that cost more and require more work, this cookbook is a dud. It seems like the Test Kitchen cooks got carried away and defeated purpose of using a slow cooker. For me this purchase was a waste of money.
