I was impressed with the specs and bought it. It is a good carpet scrubber, but this is why I gave it 1 star. I tried it out, worked great, but the short cord is a pain, you have to hold it up and it does feel cheap. However, it is easy to clean the machine. I cleaned an area, left the dial on wash, came back and all the cleaning solution drained into the fresh water water tank. I contacted Hoover who said they would send a replacement tank. Then I get an email a few days later that the tank is back-ordered, no idea when I'll get it. I used the machine the next day, the automatic shutoff valve kept engaging. Cleaned the machine and filter and the shutoff valve kept engaging with less than an inch of dirty water in it. I contacted Hoover again, they called back and wanted me to take the machine to a repair shop in Ohio or Kentucky, I live in Indiana, either place is a 30 mile drive 1 way. Figure 60 miles to drop it off and 60 miles to pick it up at $4.00 a gallon. I again contacted Hoover and said this is unacceptable for a 3 day old machine with 2 issues to expect me to drive 120 miles to another state to see IF it can be fixed. I suggested a proper resolution would be to send me a replacement machine and pick up this one. Again, I received a call from the same person at Hoover telling me how he was trying to help me by suggesting 2 places to take it to that are about 18 miles away...he doesn't even get the mileage correct. I told Hoover to forget it, I'll return the machine. AAA +++ to Amazon for a great return/replacement policy. I am going to try 1 more of these scrubbers, but if it is a lemon too, I'll go back to Bissell.
