Raaaaaaaaacism!
It is astonishing to me that, in this day and age, someone could publish something so baldly racist without getting so much as a critical word about it on Amazon. You'd know just from reading the subtitle, "I Never Met a Ship I Liked," just what a bigot Captain Trimmer is. But to read it is to be truly appalled. At first, Captain Trimmer attempts to conceal his bigotry against Huge Ships by using scientific language and vague generalities. But by Chapter three, "Never let your daughter date a Huge Ship," the wheels come off. Not only does he oppose inter-boat class marriage, but he argues that Huge Ships should just go back to Europe where they came from. Then, in Chapter Four ("Roving gangs of Huge Ships will eat your children") he actively endorses Legal Harbor segregation, or as he calls it, "Harbpartheid." From segregated fueling stations to poll taxes designed to prevent Huge Ships from voting to segregated shipping lanes, Trimmer's endorsement of Harbpartheid is truly horrendous. I can't even bring myself to describe his last chapter, "Huge Ships: The Final Solution," but if you can imagine whole harbors of scrapyards you can get an idea. A repellant publication.
