Preachy propaganda with high production value
The production was okay... above average at least. CGI could be better done in many parts. But the constant preachy, propaganda undertone was a bit hard to get through. The point of a fantasy world is to lose oneself in story. But this script tries to overlay what is perceived to be today's race-based identity politics onto the fantasy world. It does a poor job of it and therefore outweighs higher production value. They also could've found a better female lead. Cara Delevingne is largely emotionless throughout and fails miserably in the couple scenes when she tries to exhibit emotion. This is a common problem with her work in my humble opinion. 2 stars.
