When buying something like this you have to know what software exactly you are going to want to run, then install that software and see if this device is one that is supported. It really doesn't work to just go on a whim and buy it and then find out there is no way on earth to get that software you want to work to use it. The company does virtually nothing to make it any easier. They could get customers info about configuring software. The different programs are radically different. So the upconverter offset is -125000000 in one and 125000000 in another. And no one is going to tell you which way it goes or the name of the field. So I hope you want to watch endless you tube videos looking for hints because this vendor can't be bothered helping customers with configuration. Here's a hint: the only way cubicsdr is going to work with this is if you find the pothosSDR distribution with cubicsdr. On its own, cubicsdr does not have a driver for it. A huge disappointment for me is the difficulty and/or impossibility of getting some well known digital programs to use this like wsjtx and fldigi. Certainly they don't suppport this without some huge hacks. If you want to watch dozens of videos and search the web for hours on end to try to get this working then this is the device combo for you. If you want something a lot more a sure thing, keep looking.
