I loved it UNTIL....
LATEST UPDATE: The bottles start to leak like crazy because a 1/4" part inside the cap falls off. It's a soft, clear plastic valve that lets the bottle breathe but keeps the cleaning fluid from running out. When the part falls out, your cleaning fluid runs out the mop. The company won't replace the bottle or the cap because they "don't have any in stock."...essentially making your mop kit worthless. Fortunately, there's a quick fix. If your bottle starts leaking, take off the cap and pour the cleaning fluid through a strainer. You should discover the plastic valve in your strainer. Now look on the inside of your cap. There's a small hole in the cap. Put the plastic valve back in place over that hole, and your bottle will work perfectly again. (For a permanent fix, rinse and dry the valve, and glue it in place.) ORIGINAL REVIEW: Initially, I absolutely loved this mop. My wife used to insist on using one of those silly Swiffers. It was so flimsy, it practically bent in two whenever it touched the floor. The Rubbermaid, on the other hand, is a solid, sturdy, and was obviously designed by somebody who had used a mop before. The microfiber pad goes on easily, and stay in place. The built-in spray shoots out in a very generous amount, and is really handy. If you mop "hard" and vigorously like I do(we have a dog who drools a little, and dog drool dries into super glue), you'll really appreciate the foam cushion positioned exactly where your left hand goes. I was extremely happy with the Rubbermaid....then I rinsed out the microfiber pad, and the water I squeezed out of it was barely dirty. (We live on a lake in the north woods. We leave our shoes on, and are in and out a lot. Our wood flooring is very large, and it gets dirty.) I knew something was wrong, so I grabbed my old mop. It's an 8" x 14" flat mop with a cotton pad that pulls on. I wet the pad with water, and went over part of our "clean" floor. The white cotton pad came up dirty. I flipped it over, and re-did some more floor. The pad kept coming up dirty. I realized that the Rubbermaid microfiber scrubbed my floor, but did not pick up the dirt. It left it on the floor as a residue!! So now what? I love the Rubbermaid, and will continue to use it, but I'll only do a section at a time, and then go over it again with my flat mop with its cotton pad. Too bad, it's not what I expected, but at least our floors will be clean. UPDATE AFTER ONE MONTH: Today the bottle started leaking...actually, running. I don't know what's wrong with the cap, but fortunately my "kit" came with 2 bottles, so I was able to switch to the other bottle and everything was leak-free again. I wrote to Rubbermaid to get a new cap.
