Warning. I have bought this filter before - perhaps 7-8 months ago. I went to my previous order and clicked on the item so that I could order another. The first water filter worked beautifully and fit well. This filter may have come from a different supplier/shipper. It came from Caribbean Appliance, Puerto Rico. Well, it arrived in a few days and we took out the old and slid in the new - should be as simple as that. The new one did not go in. Upon examination of the two cylinders we see that the old one has a "tab" on the slot where it inserts into the end of the filter to allow it to "stick" and then you have to slightly push it to release it when time to change filter. This new filter does not have the tab and so - it won't stay "stick" in the filter recess. Bottom line. It just doesn't work. The numbers are the exact same part number but this newest one is missing it's tab. It was manufactured w/o the tab as it has not been broken off. It was never there. Now, I have to return it to Caribbean Appliance at my own shipping expense and provide them with my refrigerator model number. How did I get into this mess? I assumed (ass u me) that a previous Amazon order would equal the same vendor, part, etc. I was wrong. Maybe others have received the correct part. I will not take that chance again. I'm not sure how many of these reviews are merely for the ITEM and not the vendor. It seems to make a big difference. I am used to dealing with Amazon and if something is not correct they pay the return shipping and provide me with a new item or give me a credit. This type of service is simply not acceptable. Buyer Beware.
