It’s hard to explain. At the bottom of each section there is a little part of the plastic where a paper can catch. If you don’t move the paper to the side of this plastic catch, the paper will stick up about a half inch and obscure the labels. It’s a really annoying design flaw. I will be purchasing the type of expanding files that are made out of the brown paper/canvas from now on. Also, as everyone else has stated, the closure is too short to allow the file to fully expand.
