Cheapest and the worst of all!
As a robotics enthusiastic, I had the interest and chance to test all popular automatic litter boxes with my kitties. Here are my Top 5 rankings:
No.5 LitterMaid:
Advantages: Lowest price; Big size of litter bed
Disadvantages: Not reliable at all, breaks down easily; Very noisy; Without the hood, terrible tracking and odor control
No.4 PetSafe ScoopFree:
Advantages: More durable than LitterMaid; Acceptable self-cleaning strength
Disadvantages: Poor durability after a while; Costly maintenance with disposable trays and crystal litters; Stinks with the crystal litter; Speedy and noisy; Looks similar to the traditional litter box, Rake becomes sometimes
No.3 PetSafe ScoopFree Ultra:
Advantages: The hood is a big plus for odor and tracking control.
Disadvantages: $30 more than the regular PetSafe ScoopFree
No.2 Litter-Robot:
Advantages: Strong cleaning strength; Comes with an app for a $50 upgraded version; Phone Support
Disadvantages: Biggest in size, requires an ample space; Major safety concerns to stuck cats; Loud noise; The opening is very high, some cats refuse to use it in a week; Most expensive, from $499 to $999.
No.1 ChillX AutoEgg:
Advantages: Modern minimalist redesign of auto litter box; Comes with a touchscreen to track the weight of your cats and their waste; Much quieter than all others, barely noticeable when self-cleaning; Zero maintenance cost, you only need to replace liner; Sleek appearance.
Disadvantages: Not compatible with bigger cat, the litter tray is slightly smaller than other litter boxes; Rake sticks sometimes; Costly; Not Available on Amazon.
