I bought this in November. The lamp itself is fine (so far), but in the night last night I heard a crash. When I went into the studio I discovered the clamp had broken into two, sending the lamp crashing to the floor. The c-clamp is NOT metal. It is made of some composite material. It should never have failed like that!
