Good intent.
Homonyms. Sounds the same, means entirely different things. Hole, Whole are not the same thing. Sight, Site, Cite are all very different things. Role, Roll totally different. When relying on spell check, or even grammer check, will not catch these errors. That is one of the primary reasons to have an editor. No computer program in exsistence can replace an editor who is able to find these errors and correct them. The other use for an editor is of course to help keep the plot lines and time lines flowing correctly. Case in point; when Thor leaves for his Hundred Days it takes 2 days to reach the port from which the the ship departs, when he returns the sea is visible from the castle, and it takes less than a full day to reach the castle. These things really can affect (not effect) the readers enjoyment of the novel, and may in fact make them less likely to continue to read the series.
