★★☆☆☆
Poorly manufactured.. But looks nice from a far
Let's start with the pros...
Pros:
-Fire place is very pretty, and puts out a good amount of heat
-Over all was pretty easy to install, a little tedious, but I got it put together all by myself.
-Looks very nice from a far, and it's perfect for a small/medium space.
Cons:
-I will start off by saying almost every single piece was un even or pre-drilled wrong. Thank God I have common sense, because using the directions doesn't help when it's missing the majority of the "pre-drilled" or "cut outs" that are in the instructions. Also, I would say out of all the separate pieces.. Only 2 of them were straight even peices.
-The locking mechanism is handy, and does save some time, but almost all of my little lockers were stripped, which made it difficult to screw them. Also since a lot of my pieces were un even, the locks didn't line them up as they were supposed too.
-The two main reasons why I'm being so harsh about this....
a) they sent me one good door, and one was just compleltey "pre-drilled" wrong. The manufacturer put the cut outs for the hinges, and the handle all on the same side... So I had to drill my own holes to attach it, leaving visable holes on the exterior from the ones they did wrong.
b) There is a HUGE blemish on the media shelf... It was like that as soon as I got it out of the package. I will have to fill it in with a wood marker, or wood putty. I'm sure it will be covered up most of the time... But still.
Over all, I think it's more worth $150-200 verses the $300 I paid.. It does look nice from a far, and the heat works very well BUT, when you get close, you can definitely see all the blemishes and how un even the entire unit is. I maybe just got a dud, considering the rest of the reviews are pretty good, but I wanted to share my experience!
