Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I have been a digital subscriber to the NY Times for years. In an effort to both try to comply with the software requirements of my Fire 10HD tablet and to perhaps improve the readability of the paper, I downloaded the various versions of the NYTs apps (one looked like the front page, the other as if you were reading a book - neither one was anything to write home about, in my humble opinion). What I did NOT realize is that after a certain period of time I would be charged $19.99 per MONTH for the privilege of said app residing on my tablet, in addition to what I was already paying the Times. Sneaky little charges to my debit card buried among all my other Amazon purchases, which are significant. I have looked over the language, and see nothing remotely indicating such a significant price hike would occur after installing this "free app". Nor can anyone from Amazon tell me if such an exorbitant amount is actually supposed to be a subscription to the actual newspaper, which might make sense.. Either way, I will remove this app once again after leaving this review, and will do my best to get some sort of refund.
