I feel like I went back in time 15 years with this mouse. It tracks horribly. I'm constantly having to pick it up and move it to get it to re-establish the pointer. I tried various surfaces and even went so far as to order a new dedicated mouse pad (yes, I no longer had any on hand as I thought most mouse manufacturers had made them obsolete). No luck. The mouse pad was only a modest improvement. I'd return the damn thing if I still had the original packing material but I dispose of it too quickly not thinking that this could possibly be an issue. My mistake. UPDATE: OK, after several more days of being frustrated I did some additional research and figured out what the problem is. The mouse comes with its own dongle, which was cleverly hidden inside the mouse, which I had connected to the USB port on the computer. The mouse will not consistently connect with the dongle and therefore the computer if it is more than 12 inches apart from each other. That's ridiculous. It should be able to work up to three or more feet away. Really poor design in my estimation. When they are close, it works fine. But over 12 inches and it's sporadic. Over two feet and there is no connection whatsoever. Buyer beware.
