I got one of these over a year ago. For the first 8 months, it was a joy to use. It is one of the easiest to handle weed pullers I've ever owned (I have at least 6 at any one time). Well, it got a lot of use for the first 5 months. The last of those five months, I noticed that the 'weed eject' function wasn't quite so smooth as before, and it took a light kick on the lever arm to release weeds. Still, it worked. Winter came and went, and I've been plucking weeds like mad for the last month. Today, my Uproot weeder cracked at the base of the nylon surround for one of the 4 metal blades. It does not appear to be a repairable fault. I don't know if this is typical or not, but it's increasingly hard to find these -- and Fiskars has a new model out, with only one blade that seems to work fairly well (I have one of these also). It could be that they quietly dropped the model because of a breakage problem.
