Unreliable. Failure Codes F-C and F-D occur too often.
Unreliable. In three years, this unit's processor has failed six times; and GE is more reluctant each time we call to have it serviced. Codes F-C and F-D repeat often and require service technician visits and parts exchange. The heater works when the processor fails, so you won't be without hot water; but it will run on electric mode only, operating at a higher cost. Do a little research on-line before committing to this unit, and you'll see that this is a prevalent and unresolved problem which is the result of GE's rushing this water heater to market. It did, at least, pay for itself in the two years before it became equivalent to a regular water heater; so I'm not so upset putting it out with the trash now and replacing it with another brand. Consider AO Smith and Stiebel Eltron before GE if you want a hybrid.
UPDATED 16 SEP 15: I placed this review on the GE website as well as here on Amazon, and GE has "moderated" it; in other words, they removed it. Negative criticism, like calling six times for repair services, isn't tolerated by GE. I've changed the rating from 2 to 1 star based on this.
