I received my Gear Fit on June 15th as a gift for father's day, I was on Vacation as saw this as a great opportunity to try it out as we were walking all over very places. I wore it all around for the day at the end of the day the Gear Fit said I had walked 15,000 steps, my wife, who walked every where I did was wearing a Fit Bit and it said we had gone 12,500, as this was a huge discrepancy I started watching the Gear Fit closely what I noticed was that it would randomly add several steps when I was doing things like changing clothes or simply getting off the bed and then sitting in a chair. I returned the Gear Fit and got a new one, hoping that it was just a bad one. I got the new Gear Fit, which had just been updated with the newest Samsung software that was supposed to increase the accuracy of the pedometer as well as the heart rate monitor the update also made the Gear Fit start tracking steps without the user having to manually start the pedometer. What I noticed was that even after the update the pedometer was still very inaccurate, it would give me 30 steps for putting my pants on. Compared to the Fit Bit it was 200-300 steps off in a 1,000 step period. I don't know what if anything more Samsung will do about this but if you are looking for a reliable activity tracker, at this point this device doesn't seem to be very use full. I does look good and the touch screen is very nice, It also does work well for seeing messages, calls, e-mails on your wrist. It did connect easily to my Galaxy S5.
