While this charging station does charge when connected to electrical power and effectively charges my electronics the “solar charger” isn’t worth anything at all and does not take a charge after ten hours in the sun. I charged the unit as suggested via electric plug and it took approximately 6 hours for a full charge. I then used it to recharge the battery on my smartphone a total of three times (it took approximately 4 hours to complete the charge each time). Once the charging station was down to one blue bar I decided to see how well it would work to charge in the sun. The first day I placed it in a window facing south. It stayed there for the entire day but did not accept a charge. I thought perhaps it had something to do with my windows so the next day I placed it outside in direct sun for ten hours. At the end of that time the station still shows 1 blue bar as a charge. While I didn’t expect it to charge completely in an hour I did expect that ten hours in direct sunlight would at least show some charge. I am debating about returning this item as the whole point of the purchase was to have a charging unit I could use while hiking and camping in the Mojave desert where sun is plentiful 12 hours a day in the summer.
