Product Contains Carrageenan Even Though Picture Shows It Doesn’t
The reason for the low review is because the product is duplicitously listed and shown in photo as NOT having Carrageenan, even though it has it as the picture uploaded will show.
What’s the big deal? Well, for starters, Carrageenan has been suspected of being a carcinogen for a while, and there’s also other issues it has been linked to such as increased free radical formation, inflammation, which is a precursor to cancer, disrupted insulin metabolism, insulin resistance and glucose intolerance. These are some of the reasons some food manufacturers have removed it from their products.
Furthermore:
"Low-molecular-weight carrageenan, known as poligeenan, is classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer as a 'possible human carcinogen' (Group 2B) … While poligeenan has well-documented inflammatory and carcinogenic properties, food-grade carrageenan was thought to be 'high molecular weight' and safe to eat. However, the viscosity requirement to qualify carrageenan as food-grade does not exclude the presence of low-molecular-weight poligeenan.
In fact, the carcinogenic molecular-weight poligeenan is found naturally, in varying percentages, in all food-grade carrageenan, and exposure to heat, acid (including stomach acid), digestive enzymes (such as saliva and stomach enzymes) and bacteria (i.e., mouth and gut microflora) increases the amount of poligeenan.
Meanwhile, industry-funded propaganda often fails to point out that food-grade carrageenan does in fact contain dangerous poligeenan in varying amounts, in some tests exceeding 5 percent."
To say the least its highly suspect that the product ingredient Carrageenan isn’t listed. In fact, there’s another ingredient not listed, which is Non-GMO modified cornstarch.
While it might not seem like a big deal, and the product does seem to be helping most people, in an age where cancer is becoming normal, you have to question where the health of society is going. Cancer at the rates that are taking place is heading into astronomical directions. And this didn’t happen in the past!
For what its worth, as was reported on June 1, 2012 that Cancer rates are expected to increase by 75% by 2030. Not sure about how others feel, but avoiding cancer is an issue we take very seriously, and we will do everything within our power not to become a statistic.
In the age of information, ignorance is no excuse, especially when it doesn’t take a long time to research topics such as this.
The ironic part in all this is that this product doesn’t have to contain Carrageenan because other Vitamin K2 products, such as the one we take, does not contain Carrageenan.
Needless to say we are highly disappointed because this product would have been arguably the best one on the market even though it contains this “possible” human carcinogen. In any case, do your own research and see where it takes you.
