Not convenient and messy
I have used the diva cup for two cycles. What I don’t like- I sit on the toilet and need to remove the cup. I reach in and release the suction and pull it out. My hand is now covered in blood. I dump the contents in the toilet. Now I need to rinse the cup out with water. I shove toilet paper in my crotch, waddle to the sink with my pants and undies around my ankles, use my non bloody hand to turn on the faucet, and rinse. Then I waddle back to the toilet, remove the toilet paper from my crotch and insert the cup. Super inconvenient. I have to empty my cup every two hours for the first two days of my period. If I don’t, I leak all over. I am 43 years old and have had 5 children. I am in shape and workout daily. The cup doesn’t last me a workout. For reference I am 5’7” and 140#. I think the cup may be nice for the last two days of my cycle when I’m lighter in flow. The whole concept of a bloody hand and clothes around my ankles while going to the sink to clean the cup and my hand is just disgusting. Also, shoving TP in my crotch so I don’t leak all over while preparing the cup for reinsertion is just a pain. Tampons are just way more convenient.
