I have now tried two of these. Neither work as well as my old Honeywell digital thermostat. First of all, its important to point out that what Amazon is selling you here the Trade or Professtional version (as indicated by the "T" as the first digit of the model number, as apposed to an "R" for the retail version), that being said, Honeywell will NOT support this unit if you call them for help - so either find an equivalent model number that begins with an "R" or hope you get one that works right. Now for the product itself. I think these units suffer from a lazy temperature sensor - they seem to take FOREVER to detect the temperature change in a room. The unit would constantly overshoot temperature - set for 68 and the furnace would run and run and run and a thermometer placed directly above the thermostat would consistently detect that the room was warmer than what the thermostat indicated - even with playing with the thermostats hokey "offset" feature. When the furnace was finally commanded off, suddenly the screen would show 70! On the other end the thermostat would never accurately detect when the house was cold enough to turn the furnace back on again. This yielded wild temperature swings in the house and several areas of the house that felt cold, and several areas of the house that felt too warm. And because it always waited too long to command the furnace back on again, stage 2 burn was ALWAYS commanded on instead of just using stage 1 burn to maintain a temperature. I thought this was all just part of the "learning" the thermostat was going through, but after nearly a month, nothing has changed. I never had this issue with old Honeywell thermostat that was provided by HVAC contractor, and it has gone back up on the wall. Hoping that the NEST goes on sale again soon, and I will give that a try, as I really did like the Wifi features of this thermostat.
