As a veteran sprouter (I've been sprouting in mason jars for years) - I really wanted to love this product. I went ahead and bought 2 extra barrels because we go through a lot of sprouts. I first called the company after viewing The Sproutman's videos online to make sure it would grow microgreens, which is the main reason I wanted to buy it. I was told "Yes! It does". Well, NO, it doesn't!! The microgreen seeds get drowned and this will not grow m'greens. To be fair though - I have not tried wheat grass as The Sproutman has videos on. Then after a couple months use, I noticed the motor housing was solid brown/black MOLD. Nowhere in the instructions does it tell you to open this space and clean it out. After many emails back and forth with Tribest I found out this is an ongoing problem that they are well aware of. I opted not to use the suggested bleach (BLEACH? Really?) instead went with a bottle of diluted vodka. After 2 subsequent uses and changing water daily and adding Grapefruit Seed Extract daily - the mold is back. Tribest recommended that I "sell it on the secondary market" to which I replied, I'm not that dishonest to try and sell someone else my problem. Very disappointed in this unit, the very poorly written instructions and the fact that they know MOLD is a huge issue and tell you NOTHING about this in the instructions. I asked about returning the unit but because I was out of the "VERY GENEROUS 30 DAY WARRANTY" (tongue in cheek) period, they didn't even reply to my last email. I've been looking at the Tribest dehydrator and juicer - well, my business will go elsewhere after this epic fail product and laughable warranty period.
