I received this #BraunTherms free for purposes of testing from Influenster. I was extremely excited to receive it. I tested it with my three small children who all seemed to think it was pretty cool (and mostly thought it was a toy of course!) About a week after receiving it, my 5 year old started complaining of a belly ache and felt warm to the touch. I whipped out my Braun No Touch Forehead Thermometer and scanned like the instructions stated to. I was shocked to see a reading of 104.7. Immediately, I rescanned her forehead and kept getting very similar results so I grabbed my 2 year old twins (who weren't sick at all) to double check. One got a reading of 96.3 and the other a reading of 99.8. Completely confused, I grabbed my other brand of digital thermometer and tested both under arms and under the tongue (for the 5 year old) and found that my oldest was running a low grade temp (99.0 under her arm and 99.9 under her tongue) and that neither of my 2 year olds had a fever at all (both in the 97s under their arms). I really wanted to like this thermometer because of how convenient it seems and how easy it is to use (the only reason it got a second star) but it is just so wildly inaccurate that I can't trust it.
