Not sure what happened this time. I had this same popper and loved it but it started to fall apart after a few years. We use it all the time, so not surprised this happened. It was a great popper and we used it at least a couple times each week. Since ours was on its last few pops, we ordered a new one. First off, the box now says made in China. I was pretty sure my last one was made in the USA. Next problem... I open it and start to wash it so we can use it and notice that the latches that hold the top on are a different color. I look closer and realize that they are covered in old grease. Strange and Yuck! The rest of the popper is new and clean. It is like they took those pieces off a old very used popper and put them on my new one. I am attaching pics so you can see what I am talking about. Now, onto the third problem. The lid doesn't fit very well but only on one side. You really have to push hard and pop it into place. The two lids are slightly different sizes. One fits and one doesn't. Not the same quality as my old one. Very bummed.
