I have 5 of these and they used to be excellent. I'm sure the good feedbacks are based on the original design. The newer units are made with a cheaply made loud (very loud) racheting mechanism that is very annoying and can be heard every time someone is pulling towels from the roll in the kitchen throughout every room in my 3BR house!!!. I called the manufacturer/distributor and they said that's how they will be made from now on and unfortunately there is nothing to disable the loud clicking/racheting noise. I will no longer be buying these. Heads-up They are really loud!
