Let me start by saying I build a lot of box furniture. I’m a stay at home mom who loves DIY. I’m very handy and own several tools. This sandbox was a beast to assemble alone. I had to sit down with God and ask if my salvation was still valid. I cursed a lot. F words. And I don’t curse. It will do the job just fine for what my toddler boys need but the wood is not great quality. The screws won’t even stay in because it’s so soft they destroy it, I had the hardest time just drilling them in with my cordless drill. I even tried my own decent quality wood screws to see if it helped. It did not. Day 2 my 3 year old tried to open the box and both cover “bench” pieces just ripped right out of the wood. We now just lay them on top to cover it at night to keep neighborhood cats out. The only advantage to purchasing this over building a quick box from raw materials at the hardware store was I didn’t feel like designing a cover knowing my only concern was keeping animals out. I wanted quick and easy. And now the cover doesn’t function properly, we just make it work. So decide for yourself if it’s what you want in a product. Now that it’s together it does the job. But not a 5 star product.
