I wish I had thought to look here for reviews before purchasing (elsewhere). The measurements are correct HOWEVER, they are the outer measurements. Be cautioned when sizing that this is much smaller than it appears, and far less room than other models with same measurements. The stylish shape actually takes away a great deal of room (the opening gate is smaller, the entry is more like a tunnel that takes up space, the outer lip for the clips takes room) and all those little details amazingly added up to being way too small. The tag says best suited for animals 10 lbs and under and I wish I had known that. As another reader mentioned this size is truly best for a kitten or small creature and not even a small cat. My cat is 10lbs and it is too small to be comfortable for her. I purchased this because of the top load option which does function(and is metal.) UNFORTUNATELY, as many others have stated, the side door is very difficult to open and lock into place. It is a real challenge to lock in and then open and should be considered a manufactures defect. That can easily spell disaster. I strongly advise anyone considering this model to see it in person and test it out or they will likely be wasting their money.
