Documentary? No. Propaganda piece? Absolutely.
While I am very aware that most documentaries are presented as a way to tell only one side of the story, most of them try to use at least some factual information. This film was about as truthful as Frozen was.
The film tells the story of Dr Thompson and his "experiments" involving young african american boys. However, it never shows anything about those boys. None of them were in the film, none of their stories followed up on. All it shows are severely autistic or otherwise disabled white children and their poor parents. Where do these children fit in? They weren't part of Dr Thompson's studies. What do they have to do with anything other than to emotionally manipulate the audience?
The parts of Dr Thompson's testimony and phone calls were hilarious edited. These creative folks could take a phone call of him ordering pizza and cut and paste it into a way that would scare weak-minded parents into anything.
At the end of the day every single thing presented in this piece has been debunked. Follow the science, not the people that make money off of your fear. Anytime something like this comes out, science has to backtrack and disprove it again, instead of finding the true causes of autism.
Vaccines to not cause autism. End of story.
