I am a HUGE fan of Oribe products and got hooked by my stylist a year ago. I ran out of my favorite shampoo and noticed Amazon sold Oribe and I could just order online. So I placed my order and got it the next day! Genius! Immediately when I opened the box, the individual boxes they come in were crushed and didn't look to be in great condition, but that can happen during shipping. I opened them up and I also noticed the product itself didn't smell right and the consistency was off from what I was used to. The Amazon one was more watery and didn't lather like I was used to. It also smelled more like chemicals. The conditioner was also more greasy, and didn't make my hair soft, just oily. Everything about it seemed off. Even the bottles are different. See photos below. The bottle on the left is the Amazon bottle. The one on the right, from the salon, directly from Oribe rep. The bottle colors are different and the one from Amazon is blank on the bottom but has a weird seam. The authentic one has a number and no seam along the bottom of the bottle and the normal recycle logo. Why would they be so different? I've heard of counterfeit salon products, but Amazon is claiming they are directly from Oribe. I'd be skeptical and just buy it from a reputable salon that is authorized to sell Oribe because the real stuff is absolutely amazing and smells heavenly! Neiman Marcus sells the real stuff online, same price! It's worth the money when it's real.
