We live in Florida. Have for almost forty years. About six months after purchasing this hose, we noticed when filling buckets or the birdbath, that the water is full of small bits of green slime of some kind, obviously an algae or the like. We have well water here in Florida and have both a softener and an iron filter. The water in the house is totally clear. We drink it as well as bathe in it. This hose uses that same softened water that runs into the house. Besides what comes out from inside the hose, the outside is black with mold where it hangs on a post and doesn't get dragged through the grass or lay in the sun. For the maker to call this "safe for drinking water" is ludicrous. I cannot even use it for rinsing tile floors or any other cleaning use other than perhaps washing the car. I'm going to switch this hose for the one we use for watering plants which is on the raw water side of the softening equipment. Worst hose I ever had, and I'm seventy two, so I've owned dozens and dozens of hoses. Don't waste your money. Update. While switching the hoses, I stuck the bucket under the spigot the hose was attached to and filled it. No green stuff, confirming absolutely that the stuff is coming from the inside of this hose.
