This orb is a joke. To look at it online you would think it's pretty cool. Just set your phone on the orb and it magically sticks there to charge, right? I figured maybe there was some sort of magnet or something. My husband and I each bought Nexus4s recently and jumped at the chance to purchase these cool products as soon as they were available. We are Google nuts, and love just about everything Google offers. Unfortunately the orb, to put it politely, did not live up to our expectations... and neither did Google. The surface of this orb is some sort of silicone that barely adheres to the phone at all. We tried everything we could to keep the phone from sliding off during the night. We put it on different tables, propped things in front of it, etc. Since the phone kept sliding down off the orb, we tried putting bumpers underneath to make the surface of the orb more horizontal. That didn't work either, and last night the orb dropped my husband's phone off of the nightstand, and completely shattered the screen. This morning he tried calling Google on the published Nexus support line to ask them to refund the money for the orb, and help him replace the screen since it was their product the broke it. They flat our refused saying that they don't fix broken screens, and they don't refund products after 15 days. Google has completely betrayed some loyal customers by selling us a product that does not work and causes damage to our property. Not only was our phone broken, but so was our trust in Google.
