This is one of those products which are marketed as "smart home" system. Unfortunately it is NOT smart, not even close. This system is not even programmable. It lacks a very important feature: arm and disarm automatically daily at times you set it up to. That means you have to arm and disarm it EVERY DAY, MANUALLY! If you want night time coverage and of course who does not want the peace of mind of feeling secure while sleeping! But unfortunately this system can NOT be programmed (as simple as setting a timer) to do it for you so you have to tirelessly do it every day, at night and in the morning. If you forget to arm it, then forget about night time coverage, you have a security system but it is not armed because it does not know it has to arm at night when you go to bed unless you override it. My older system arms at 11pm at night, and then disarms 6:30am in the morning. This is because I set it up that way. It is that simple. I know, it is unbelievable that this system does not support a simple timer. Unfortunately I will have to return this unless Ring comments and says that this is in their roadmap and is coming very soon! There are so many other things to write, for instance I could compare my older system, this non-programmable Ring and the one I am planning to buy (programmable) but this programmability is so important and in this case a show-stopper, I will not spend any more time on this. Well, Yes, it is so important ! It is the automation age Ring, even cars drive themselves, but your alarm system cannot even arm/disarm itself! It always needs a human being to do something so simple? Really?
