I've had this heater for about nine months and have been using it in a ten gallon aquarium. It worked WONDERFULLY until today. Sometime during the night it went on the fritz and heated my tank to ABOVE 110 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. I woke up to a dead Betta and three dead snails, all cooked alive. It was heartbreaking. There's some fatal flaw with these heaters. They are cheap, and when they work, they work great. But you are taking a risk if you buy one of these for your tank.
