I bought this HEPA air purifier back in Dec. to replace an old unit that no longer has HEPA filters on the market so I can use it. I waited to review this item so that I could give an honest review of its performance. Smell: When I first got the 200S, it initially gave off a slight perfume smell; however, after about an hour or so it went away. It's now February and it's emitting a ton of perfume into the air. I'm allergic to perfume and perfumed products. Therefore, I don't buy any and, except for the occasional visit from the maintenance men or service techs, no perfume products enter my home. I've checked the filter via the app and it's at 59% and supposedly still working. I bought the HEPA air purifier to get rid of these types of odors not emit them into my home. Noise level: The air purifiers I've had in the past were twice as big as this thing and they emitted half the noise that this one does. So, I would not recommend putting it in any area where one might want to talk on the phone or converse with someone who has some hearing loss. To be clear, the purifiers I've had in the past did not have this problem. Service: I attempted to call the support department via the number listed on their website and a recorded message came on saying they weren't taking phone calls due to the pandemic; you'd have to email them and wait for a response. While I recognize that we are in the middle of a pandemic, most companies at this point have set up tech support in some sort of socially distanced manner -- usually people working from home. It's now 2021 and they still don't have service techs on-call that can help with simple solutions, file RMAs, etc. Overall, if you don't have a problem with perfumes being spread throughout your space like someone spraying a room deodorizer like it's going out of style and don't ever intend to talk around this product and aren't worried about tech support, this product may work for you. However, if the point of the HEPA air purifier was to remove odors and allergens from your space AND you like hearing people.... purchase something else.
