I purchased the 8x10 in slate. First, it's a pretty rug and relatively soft. That's where the good stuff ends, however. The color is just blue, not slate, so if you're looking for a true slate color, this isn't it. The first thing I noticed when I unrolled the rug was that it left a coating of something on my hands. A lot of rug backings aren't exactly clean, so I ignored that. I laid the rug out in my living room and arranged the furniture at the edges, etc and spent the next week in misery because of the off-gassing. I tried everything to get rid of the smell. Finally, I figured out a place I could put it outside. It was outside for 3 days. I brought it back inside late yesterday and here I am 24 hours later with a miserable sinus headache, runny nose and a house that just reeks from the off-gassing. I've never come across a rug like this. Do NOT waste your time and money.
