- This review is not for the formula itself but rather for what I received from amazon - I had been buying this formula in the store and was very pleased. I decided to order it on amazon since the price was better. I gave the entire can to my very young newborn over the course of 4-5 days and he didn’t gain a single ounce. Not one! He was only 2 weeks old and had been gaining steadily with the store bought version until I started this can. I started freaking out a bit and looked into this issue some more and saw that some reviews were calling it counterfeit. That was enough to scare me away. I went back to the store bought cans and he immediately started to gain weight again. Coincidence? Maybe, but not something I was willing to wager my kids health on. I do not know if the formula was mis-stored somehow that would cause the nutrients be affected. I have no idea but it’s just something that made me very uncomfortable.
