FRUITFLIES: DOES NOT WORK!! AT ALL!! I have literally hundreds and hundreds of fruit flies that I am struggling to get rid of. They are particularly concentrated near the drain. I bought this unit and applied the sticky trap to the bottom. I turned the unit on for several days straight. The room was dark with the exception of the blue light from the unit. After two days I caught ZERO fruit flies. I decided to put a coin sized piece of fruit on the sticky trap. After additional days, I caught ZERO fruit flies. The fruit flies are swarming everywhere AROUND the trap, but have no interest in the light or going into the trap. I seriously question any previous reviews stating that it works on fruit flies. Fruit flies are Drosophilia Melanogaster. They are not gnats. I’ve returned this unit and the extra sticky pads. I would value any help on how to find something useful to rid myself of the fruit fly epidemic. I truly, truly wanted this to work but I can say with supreme confidence it does NOT work for fruit flies. UPDATE 8/25/19: I was able to find a solution that works. It took a 5.5 HP shop vac to go room to room twice a day for four consecutive days sucking them up from the walls and the ceiling. I already own the shop vac but for the price of this worthless bug catcher you could put it towards a shop vac if you do not own one already. Please keep in mind you need a lot of suction so a shop vac or equivalent with low horsepower will not work. Again 5.5 HP is what worked for me. Also make sure that you put tape on the end of the shop vac or place it outside after catching the fruit flies as there is the chance that they will fly out
