This type of writing drives me insane.
Why suddenly do authors seem to think it's okay to publish incomplete works? This is not a book. It's half a book. A work of fiction should have a beginning, buildup, climax, and a CONCLUSION. My fourth grader knows this. A book should not abruptly stop at a random point somewhere in the middle and then expect the reader to now purchase a second book so they can find out the conclusion to the first. If it is a series, the books should EACH have their own plot and conclusion. It's nothing but a cheap ploy to get you to purchase something else, and leaves the reader with a bad taste in their mouth. The writing didn't draw me in enough to move me past the irritation I felt when it suddenly ended, so I won't be purchasing the next one.
