I needed a backup solution that would integrate with Active Directory (AD) for security and backup Windows Server 2012 R2 drives. This NAS requires SMBv1 to be turned on to make the AD integration work. The problem is that Microsoft has deprecated SMBv1, which means; don't use SMBv1 because Microsoft intends for it to be removed from Windows in a future release. Because of this requirement I decided to send it back and look for different device. As far as the configuration of the NAS goes (other than Active Directory) it was pretty easy to figure out if you already understand networking but if not, I would recommend something other than this device. It does include a copy of NovaStor Backup but that is also an ancient version.
