Cleaver design, poor construction & materials
I wanted this to work so badly! I hung it on the door with the included hooks and began loading shoes. (Keep in mind that only one set of hooks is included and the hooks are sized to fit really wide doors. This was a bit of an issue because the hooks then would not lie flat against the door.) My shoes are women's 9.5 and men's 8 shoes and I only loaded shoes that were thin enough/small enough to fit together in a pocket. As I was loading I noticed that the hanger was crooked. I assumed this was simply becaseu of it having been folded and that it would straighten out as I loaded it with the weight of the shoes. Sadly it did not straighten even after rearranging shoes to change the weight distribution so I was left with the hanger extending past the side of the door 5-6 inches. If it had been on the hinge side I wouldn't have worried but it was on the handle side so it got in the way when closing the door. Within 30 minutes of loading shoes into the holder, I noticed that all three attachment points had torn from the weight of shoes being put into the holder. I also noticed that the rather small metal hooks were bending. I assure you that I didn't load this thing with heavy work boots--we're talking Sanuk sandals and slip on, a few Chuck Taylors (the heaviest of my shoes), lightweight Saucony Jazz sneakers, and some lightweight lace-up dress shoes. This design makes much better use of space than traditional door-hanging shoe organizers but definitely needs some improvements in the execution and materials. So I'm sad to say that my search for shoe storage continues.
