This was my first try at an All-Clad pan to see if they were worth the hype (always listed as the #1 pot/pan to get pretty much regardless of who is making the list) and unfortunately came away disappointed. The item came with a 3" scratch along the outer portion of the lid in what appears to be a manufacturer defect. No problem i figure, i haven't used it and it comes with a lifetime warranty. Unfortunately after calling all-clad i was told that regardless of their "life-time warranty", their pans with lids are not a normal item and therefor can not be replaced if i sent it back in. I will call amazon and see if they can remedy it however this bodes poorly for a pan i was hoping to keep for a lifetime and wanted a warranty that actually meant something to back it up.
