The smell was so foul, it was unusable. The company has a no return policy. I have used monk fruit concentrate a lot and have used a few brands. I know what monk fruit liquid and powder taste like. This is NOT it. This is not a matter of aftertaste. The smell was nothing like monk fruit. It smelled like a dead rat or something - pungent and horrible. I think something is wrong with their manufacturing process because it should not smell this foul. Very disgusting. I did not heat it or put it in anything hot - it smells this way right out of the bottle - even with the lid closed! Entire bottle ruined and the expiration date is not until 2019 (see attached photo). Complete waste of money. I want to send the bottle to their CEO just so they can smell what they did. Horrifying awful. Other brands do not smell like this - not even remotely. I will not buy this brand again. If anyone in the Lakanto company reads these reviews, please fix your manufacturing problem! I bought it from Amazon, so maybe it rotted in Amazon’s warehouse.
