Frozen foods like French fries, chicken nuggets, fish sticks etc do come out good after some trial & error. Best to add some oil before cooking. Update: After owning for less than 5 months and a dozen uses, the fryer basket will detach from the pot even when the safety button is in place when you pull it out to shake food. Fortunately no one was burnt when it unexpectedly detached but the outer pot was bent and dented when it hit the tile floor. After some run around from the manufacturer they did send a replacement pot and basket but unfortunately it doesn't fit my fryer. It will not seal on one side so now I have a useless piece of junk. Be careful if you have small children, I was barely able to get out of the way of the hot pot when it detached unexpectedly. Spend the extra money and go with a better brand. Update: Go Wise has finally agreed to replace or repair the defective fryer but I have to foot the bill for shipping because it is not within the 30 day return period. $26 each way. Most expensive piece of junk in my kitchen! Update 7/9/19: This thing should be taken off the market! After having the new unit for just a few months with light use, the basket and pot detach while “locked”. I cannot believe this piece of garbage gets good reviews.
