Innacurate, chintzy and lots of misinformation about the calibration weight needed
This scale is inaccurate and useless. I used it to compound herbal medicine, mixing one strain with another to get a balanced effect. I weighed out .25 of one type of herb. Then I weighed out the second herb and got .19. So I ground up more and tried to get 0.06, in order to get the equivalent amount of the second herb. Despite having a readout that displays hundredths of a gram, this scale does not have this accuracy. I kept putting herb on the scale, and it kept showing 0.00. I touched my finger to the scale to jog it, but it kept showing what that about .2g of herbs (based on my estimate) was 0.00. This scale does not have the accuracy to weigh 0.06g or something like that. It won’t even do tenths of a gram accurately. It’s garbage! If you are using it to compound herbal medicine or weigh out edibles, prepare for unexpected results.
For now, I will go back to making these compunds using a 1/4 teaspoon. It is not accurate, as weight is a better measure, in theory. In practice, with this GDEALER scale, one is better off just using measuring spoons. This scale is so frustratingly inaccurate!!!
I basically threw the scale on the floor and crushed it with my foot, out of frustration. It crushed like a cockroach, as the plastic is so chintzy. It is not worth returning this PoS. It is cheap Chinese garbage that I was swindled into buying with these fake reviews. Yeah, most of the verified buyers work for GDEALER. That is the oldest trick in the book. Amazon reviews are totally pwned by businesses. The other reviewers don’t even know what an accurate scale is.
I used to have an Ohaus digital scale that, unfortunately, got ruined due to high humidity causing the batteries to leak. That scale was accurate and could weigh out small amounts. It was well made. It cost a few dollars more than this cheap PoS.
If you do decide to buy this chintzy PoS, one thing that must be made clear — YOU NEED A 100G WEIGHT FOR CALIBRATION!!! They don’t even know how to write a proper manual. I keep seeing 500g over and over. Yeah, I bought a 500g weight, based on the answers and comments. That’s not true. Now I have to deal with returning it. I wonder if someone is misinforming people to make a sale? I’m not even sure if it’s worth the bother returning the weight. Ugh! Maybe keep it to smash the scale when you inevitably get frustrated with it.
This again, leads me to believe most of the reviews are fraudulent.
If you plan on buying a calibration weight, wait until you get the scale. It will display the weight needed on the screen when you calibrate it.
The company that makes this scale is so cheap, you won’t find an answer to this in their manual. I looked all over the Internet for this info.
Just wait until you get the scale before you buy a calibration weight. I was so f-ing p.o.’d when I found this out, I wanted to smash the scale. What a cheap company! They use the same manual for various scales, so the info is generic.
Better yet, don’t buy this scale. Ohaus makes better scales than this. There are other companies that make better ones too. I have only owned two scales, but that’s enough to realize this GDEALER scale is not good.
I should have known better. GDEALER is the sketchiest name and their products are s#!t.
Amazon needs to take a look at these reviews. No way is this a 4 1/2 star product. Something fishy is going on here.
