This book is trash Only book I've ever "hate-read"
This is the first book I've ever read that I have no desire to finish. Maybe you'd enjoy this if you've never read a book in your life. The prose is trash, to an embarassing degree. This published work wouldn't fly as a rough draft in most ENG 101 classes. There are literally 50 "it was like" similes in the first 30 pages. Everything about this book is elemetary and you can hear him stroking his own ego in the subtext. Logic thinks he's really smart and he wants you to know it. The fourth wall breaking is cliche, the self referential narrative, also cliche, and he spends more time describing name brand products than bulding characters. When he described a college woman who the main character just met as "someone who was probably molested and thus tries to hurt other people before they can hurt her" as a TYPE of woman I almost puked. He's biting literally every fiction cliche there is but acts like he invented it. His views in this book about women are super problematic, he thinks his trauma is more important than the experiences of others, and its creepy that he thanks one of the female characters in the book in the epilogue. Save your 10 bucks and check out a Chuck Palahniuk book from the library.
