This vacuum cleaner was sold as new but the serial number had been removed. This is the equivalent of selling a car without the VIN number. It worked fine for three years. I did everything required for maintenance, changing filters etc. Then two weeks ago the bag exploded inside the machine spreading dirt everywhere and burning out the motor. I tried to have it repaired at a Miele dealer and found out that the serial number had been removed so there is no identifying information. The dealer said there is a whole black market of machines that have been returned to the manufacturer that are sold as new but with no identifying information. I have reported this to Amazon's fraud department but am out $800 since this cannot be repaired.
