Sure, the other reviews mentioned the back of the plate was unglazed, but they didn't mention that a) it will scratch your countertop.. even a granite countertop b) if you leave the dishes on a wood surface -- even for as little as 15 or 20 minutes - when you pick up the dish you will have a water ring where the dish was c) even stacking the dishes... when you go to unstack them, each dish below the top one will have water on the surface d) don't dare have other dishes next to these, in the dishwasher, because the unglazed back is rough enough that it will scratch the other dishes. I am SO sorry I bought this set (sadly, I bought two boxes) and have now returned both. Better to use paperplates until I find something else.
